Dexter Crowley

Dexter Crowley covers outdoors for Upper South Journal. He is a former wildland firefighter who spent six summers on hotshot crews in the West before coming home to Tennessee for a slower-paced job with a state park. He has paddled most of the runnable water on the Cumberland Plateau and keeps a working list of every named waterfall in Van Buren County. He lives outside Sparta with his daughter and two dogs and grows more tomatoes than anyone needs.
