Nadia Pickens

Nadia Pickens contributes reviews to Upper South Journal. She spent fourteen years in hotel operations, including a long run as a director of guest services at properties in the Southeast, before stepping back to write about the industry from the outside. Her grandparents emigrated from Bulgaria to Pittsburgh in the 1960s, and she still cooks her grandmother's banitsa for company. She moved to Lookout Mountain, Georgia, in 2021 for the porch and the quiet.
